Trading Xmas: a trader letter to Santa

Jonathan Henault Dec 08, 2021

Dear Santa,

My broker doesn’t know that I am writing to you, so I hope that you don’t mind.

I have been waiting all year to write and tell you what I want this Christmas from you! I must say it has been a strange year – again. Like 2020, 2021 was a year full of surprises for investors, with this strong economic acceleration until June and the return of the pandemic that made the equities more volatile now. Maybe you heard about this virus? I hope it didn’t arrive at your home in the North Pole, and that none of the elves who work with you have been sick.

I don’t know if you need to check how good I have been, I do try but sometimes it is hard to do everything mom and dad tell me to do! Especially because they completely disagree on the correct trading strategy to adopt. Mommy is all about pairs trading, maybe because she’s a romantic. Daddy prefers the Breakout strategy – which always scares my mother who still believes that it means that he is going to leave us.

And me? I still don’t know, but I’m just a child, and I still need to learn a lot about trading, and maybe make some mistakes before encountering success. So please please please, dear Santa, can you find me the best trading simulation tool that exists in the world, so that I can learn how to trade without taking any risks? All of my friends said they have an Adeltrade account, and they won’t let me play with them until I have one too!

The other thing that I also would like is a crystal ball that gives you accurate predictions about what the market will look like the day after. It looks really cool and I know that some of my trader friends have it and think it’s great. Please Santa, I promise to be a good boy if you bring me these two things this year!!

I will be leaving you some yummy cookies to nibble on in case you are hungry when you stop by with the presents, if you are thirsty just help yourself to what we have in the fridge! Mom & Dad won’t mind!

Safe journey.

Your trader apprentice, Josh.
